Lady Lyons ‘White’wash Paducah St. Mary 7-0

Lyon County’s girls finished up a 14-2-2 run through the regular season in style with a 7-0 triumph over Paducah St. Mary Thursday at Powell Field at Lee S. Jones Park in Eddyville.

Anna White had a hat trick and seniors Rose Smith and Leah Schroeder each had two goals as the Lady Lyons’ won their Senior Night contest.

White had the match’s first goal in the 12th minute, scoring from in front to make it 1-0.

Smith got her first goal in the 16th minute, running on to a through pass from Schroeder to put Lyon up 2-0.

White’s second tally came in the 25th minute with Smith picking up the assist from the left side.


Lyon led 3-0 at halftime, then continued to pull away in the second half against the Lady Vikings (8-10).

Schroeder dribbled in and scored unassisted in the 57th minute. That extended the margin to 4-0.

White’s third goal came in the 65th minute when she scored off a rebound to make it 5-0.

Smith scored unassisted in the 77th minute to give Lyon a 6-0 lead.

Schroeder netted her second goal just a minute later, scoring on a long free kick from about 40 yards out to make the final 7-0.

Lyon outshot St. Mary 28-14 in the contest.

Maddie Russell had nine saves for the Lady Lyons.

Lyon will host the 5th District tournament next week.
