Cate Blane felt better about her second round at the Leachman Buick GMC/KHSAA Girls’ State Golf Tournament in Bowling Green Wednesday.
The Hopkinsville High freshman shook off a rocky start to shoot an 87 and finish tied for 54th place. Her two-day total of 170 was one shot higher than her score last year when she was 53rd.
Birdies were tough to come by for Blane. Her only one appeared in Tuesday’s first round. After shooting a 45 on the back nine Wednesday, Blane came in with a 42.
