The Christian County Lady Colonels have now locked up the second seed in next week’s 8th District volleyball tournament. The Lady Colonels secured that spot with a straight-set win over Fort Campbell on Senior Night.
The Lady Colonels rolled through the opening set of the match, winning 25-12 to take a 1-0 lead in the match. Christian County kept moving on in the second set, taking a 25-18 win to go up two sets to none over the Lady Falcons.
Fort Campbell would put up a battle in the third set. The Lady Colonels, though, were able to claim a 25-22 win to close out the sweep in the match.
Hailey Sparks had a big night for Christian County, finishing with 8 kills, 7 digs, and 6 aces. Chantelle Haby ended up with 16 assists and one ace. Rylee Owens chipped in with 16 digs, 5 aces, one kill, and one assist.
Christian County improves to 7-10 overall with the win. The Lady Colonels are back in action Thursday at McLean County.
Fort Campbell falls to 2-13 overall on the year. The Lady Falcons will host Caldwell County Thursday night.
