Lady Maroons’ Goal Explosion Sends Them to Region Semifinals

10-11-madville

Madisonville and Webster County were motoring right along in their girls’ soccer region quarterfinal game — no score through 22 minutes.

After a Kennedy Justice goal got the Lady Maroons on the board in the 23rd minute, Madisonville would score nine goals over a 17-minute stretch to win the game 10-0 and move into Wednesday’s semifinal game against Hopkinsville.

Justice would add her second goal on a penalty kick just six minutes later that put the Lady Maroons up 2-0 and start the goal-scoring barrage.

Camryn LaGrange would add four goals alongside single tallies from Lillie Carman, Madison Hill, and Raelynn Blanford for the Lady Maroons.  Annabelle Jones’ goal six minutes into the second half ended the game via the mercy rule.

Hill would contribute three assists, and Justice had two for the Lady Maroons, who improved to 15-5-1.

Webster County managed two shots on goal in the game and ends its season with a 3-10-1 record.

Madisonville plays Hopkinsville in Wednesday’s semifinal at 5:30.
