After a pair of big losses to Paducah Tilghman and Crittenden County, Chris Ezell just wanted his Trigg County football team to have fun as they enter the final stretch of the regular season.

The Wildcats responded with a school-record 711 yards and outscored Webster County 70-26 on a rainy Friday night in Dixon.

The 70 points scored is the third-most in school history and helped Trigg County win its 11th straight game over Webster County.

The Wildcats scored touchdowns on 10 of their 12 possessions in the game and didn’t punt once. Trigg opened the scoring when Jacob Wease hit Dakota Lockard on a 26-yard touchdown pass. It was one of two receiving TDs for Lockard, who hauled in three passes for 83 yards. He added a 43-yard TD at the end of the first half.

Kelsey Parham scored the first of his four touchdowns with a 31-yard run with 4:42 left in the first quarter. He later scored on runs of 77, 5, and 86 yards to finish with 234 yards on just nine carries.

Trigg scored five touchdowns in the second quarter. Jhaden Vaughn hauled in scoring passes of 73 and 80 yards. He finished with 197 yards with just three catches.

Jacob Wease finished 9-of-14 passing for 363 yards — all in the first half.

While Trigg County was running up 533 yards and 56 points in the first half, Webster County was chewing up yards of its own through the run game. Webster’s wing-T attack rolled up 355 rushing yards.

Freshman Jackson Edens scored on first half runs of 5 and 85 yards. His second touchdown got Webster to within 28-20 with 6:46 left in the half. He finished with 193 yards on six carries.

Aden Young added scoring runs of 1 and 65 yards with the latter the only points in the second half for the Trojans. Young had 106 yards on 13 carries.

The teams combined for 96 points and 1,077 yards.

Trigg County moved over .500 to 5-4 and will host Union County Friday. A win by the Braves locks up the No. 1 seed in the district.  Union County beat Paducah Tilghman 21-19.
