The Trigg County Lady Wildcats are looking to return to the 5th District volleyball championship match for the first time since 2018 as postseason play gets underway this week. The 5th District tourney will be played out Tuesday evening at Trigg County High School.

The opening match Tuesday will find the Trigg County Lady Wildcats taking on the Livingston Central Lady Cardinals. The teams split their two matches during the regular season. Back on August 31, Trigg County swept Livingston 29-27, 25-12, and 25-23.

The Lady Cardinals would turn the tables on the Lady Wildcats September 21. Livingston Central came into Wildcat Gym and took a 20-25, 25-16, 25-15, and 26-24 win over the Lady Wildcats.

The match between Livingston Central and Trigg County is set for a 5:30pm start Tuesday. The winner of that match will take on top-seeded Crittenden County at 7:30pm Tuesday for the 5th District title.

The Lady Rockets are looking for their 4th straight district championship. Trigg County last won the title in 2017. Livingston Central last won the 5th District championship back in 2014.
