Christian County’s Britton and Fleming Qualify for State Cross Country

Camden Britton and Wyatt Fleming are headed for the state cross country meet after both picked up top 25 finishes at the Class 3A boys’ regional cross country meet to lead the Christian County Colonels Saturday. The meet was run at Muhlenberg County.

Britton finished his race with a time of 17:37.93, which placed him 22nd for the day. Fleming ended up with a time of 17:46.98, garnering him a 24th place finish.

Thomas Ashby, of Apollo, won the race with a time of 15:40.91. Nolan Kurz, of Daviess County, was second at 16:36.36.

By virtue of their finishes, both Britton and Fleming qualified as individuals for the state cross country meet.

In the team competition, Apollo took 1st place with 58 points. Daviess County was second with 69 points. Madisonville-North Hopkins got 3rd place with 71 points. McCracken County (4th place), Graves County (5th place), and Marshall County (6th place) also qualified for the state meet.

Individual finishes for Christian County were:

Michael Webb – 35th place
Reg Taggart – 59th place
Joseph Parker – 60th place
J.T. Miles – 65th place
Hector Munoz – 68th place
