On the night of this year’s 13th District volleyball championship match, she wore a t-shirt stating that she was the tallest member of the Todd County Central volleyball team. Of course, that night was a night where the Lady Rebels wore t-shirts stating a falsehood about themselves. And, while she may not truly be the tallest member of the 2021 Todd County Central Lady Rebels volleyball team, her physical stature gives no true indication of the “giant” that Meredith Drummond is in many other ways in her life.

Let’s start with the classroom. Meredith has a 4.0 GPA and has been on either Honor Roll or Principal’s list all through her time at Todd County Central High School. Additionally, over the past two years, Meredith has been taking dual credit classes through Hopkinsville Community College.

She is active in the school community as well. Meredith has been active in Beta Club, National Honor Society, and is the current Vice President of FCCLA, which is the Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America. She has been voted student of the month twice at Todd County Central. Meredith received the Early Life Span Award and the award for Academic Excellence in Digital Reading.

Meredith is also active in giving back, whether it be through her service in the community, school, or her church. Some of the service projects she has participated in include collecting canned foods at Halloween for Beta, cleaning trash off roads in the Todd County area, raking neighbors yards, making cookies and taking them to shut-ins, cleaning yards for the elderly, donating free hours of babysitting services, and cleaning her church for one month of each year. Meredith was also part of the Elkton City Park clean-up effort.

Meredith’s faith is a big part of her life as well. She is an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Meredith has attended early morning seminary, a scripture study at 6:50am, before going to school all four years of high school. She is the Vice President of her young women’s class and sits on the Stake Youth Planning Committee for her church.

Music is also on the list of things Meredith does, and it involves an instrument that is not the easiest one to take on, the fiddle. For the last five years, she has been taking lessons to learn how to play. A sample of her playing is included with this post.

And, her mom thinks she is pretty cool too. In talking about her daughter Meredith, Angela Drummond says “when Meredith finds something she loves and is passionate about, she will give it 110%. She has a great love for her family and loves spending time with them. She also has a love of life and loves to laugh, dance, cut up, and just have fun wherever she goes. She works very hard in school and puts pressure on herself to make good grades.”

Not much else you can say after that. This week’s Chick-fil-A “Triple A”, Todd County Central’s Meredith Drummond.
