Kyle Bleidt Named Trigg County Soccer Coach

Trigg County has turned to a former player and current assistant to lead its boys’ soccer program into a new era as Kyle Bleidt was introduced Monday at the school.

Bleidt is a former player at Trigg County under Josh Nichols, who stepped down last month after 19 seasons. Bleidt was an assistant coach with Nichols in 2021.

The 2017 TCHS graduate will be the youngest soccer coach in the Second Region, but it’s a challenge Bleidt relishes.

After a four-year career that saw him serve as captain and garner postseason recognition, Bleidt played at Brescia University where he served as team captain there as well.

After college, he played semi-pro soccer in North Dakota before returning to Trigg County to teach and coach.

Bleidt said the styles of his different coaches will help him as he creates his own unique thumbprint on a program that has seen its share of success over the past decade.

He replaces Josh Nichols who resigned last month after winning 192 games and 11 district titles in his 19 years on the Wildcat sidelines.

  1. This kid is the worst coach I have ever seen. Wouldn’t even call him a coach more a babysitter watching kickball. My son player on this team and quit because of the lack of coaching. They Never did any drills only scrimmage all practice. Never saw throw in drills, free kick drills, corner kick drills. Some kids couldn’t even in high school throw the ball in correctly they would have two kids do all the throw ins which stopped the advantage and allowed defense to setup and just take the ball away. This was the worst decision the AD at Trigg could have made. Kyle is a 23 year old child. Petty and wouldn’t even talk back to kids at practice. Acting like because he played for s high school style college he is the GOD of soccer in Trigg. He personally wasted the seniors final year by playing kids at wrong positions and not teaching any player anything about the game to better their skill set.
