Caldwell County’s Jaylen Boyd has been named First-Team All-Mid-South Conference Bluegrass Division for the third straight season.

Boyd is the leading rusher at Lindsey Wilson College, which is 10-0 this season and has won 21 games in a row.

Boyd has run for 913 yards and nine touchdowns this season. He also has 12 receptions for 63 yards.

Boyd has returned three kickoffs for 158 yards, including a school-record 100-yard kickoff return for a touchdown this season.

The former Tiger standout also owns Lindsey Wilson all-time marks for rushing yards (3,354), rushing touchdowns (36) and 100-yard rushing games (13).

Boyd was an NAIA All-American in 2019 when he ran for 1,119 yards and 12 touchdowns that season.
A 2015 Caldwell County grad, Boyd is second on the Tigers’ all-time rushing list with 5,451 yards. He owns the Tiger single-season rushing record with 2,041 yards in 2012.

The defending national champion Blue Raiders placed 15 players on the all-conference teams, which were announced by conference officials on Thursday.

Lindsey Wilson football head coach Chris Oliver was selected as the Mid-South Conference Bluegrass Division Ron Finley Coach of the Year while Cameron Dukes was named the Craig Mullins MSC Bluegrass Offensive Player of the Year. It’s the third straight year this duo has won these awards.

In addition to Boyd, the Blue Raiders’ Eli Cross, Joe Gressette, Jaleel Warren, Joshua Lewis, Dukes, Ian Sauter, David Hylick, Luke Bowman, Cashawn Beasley and Robert Carter were all named First-Team All-MSC selections while Dawson Oliver, Darius Clark, Cameron Thurman and Darius Hylick each collected second-team conference honors.

The individual awards and all-conference teams are selected by a vote of the Bluegrass Division’s coaches. Coaches are not allowed to vote for their own players.

Twenty-nine players earned first-team all-conference honors and 28 were selected second-team all-conference as voted on by the coaches. Ties for all-conference teams were not broken.

Georgetown’s DJ White is the MSC Bluegrass Defensive Player of the Year, Bethel’s James Dixon is the Bluegrass Offensive Freshman of the Year and Pikeville’s Jonathan Morton is the Bluegrass Defensive Freshman of the Year.

Lindsey Wilson opens postseason play on Saturday when it welcomes Montana Western to Columbia for the NAIA Football Championship Series Opening Round. Kickoff is set for 12:30 p.m.
