Shooting Woes Plague Lady Falcons in Loss at Pleasant View Christian

A slow start coming out of the gate and a scoreless 4th quarter were a bit too much for the Fort Campbell Lady Falcons to overcome Tuesday night. The Lady Falcons were upended on the road 49-13 by Pleasant View Christian in the season opener for Fort Campbell.

Pleasant View’s defense opened the game by limiting the Fort Campbell offense to just three field goals as they took a 17-7 lead. Three different Lady Falcons found the scoring column in the opening quarter. The Lady Falcons also had to deal with foul issues as they sent Pleasant View to the line eleven times in the first eight minutes.

The offensive struggles continued for Fort Campbell in the second quarter as they managed just one field goal in the quarter. Pleasant View pushed the lead out to 33-9 at the break. Again, free throws were a big part of their offense as they shot eight more free throws in the second quarter to bring their first-half total to 19.

Pleasant View Christian’s defense continued to control the game in the second half. The Lady Falcons were limited to just two field goals over the final sixteen minutes of the game. The lead would grow to 40-13 in the third quarter.

Pleasant View would then hold the Lady Falcons scoreless over the final eight minutes as they pulled away for the 49-13 win.

Kayla Prince led Fort Campbell with four points. Rosella Rajj added three more for the Lady Falcons. Rajj also had 11 rebounds in the contest.

Pleasant View’s Madie Lynn Harlinger was the only double-figure scorer in the game with 10 points. Chloe Pangborn added eight points for the victors.

Shooting woes continue to be an issue for the Lady Falcons as they connected on only 6 of 29 from the field.

Free throws were a big factor in the win for Pleasant View as they shot 31 free throws in the contest, connecting on 14 of them.

The Lady Falcons are set to return to action Saturday as they go on the road to take on Fulton City.
