Caldwell Wrestlers Win Twice at Calloway County

Caldwell County’s wrestlers opened their season on Thursday with a pair of tri-match victories at Calloway County High School in Murray.

Caldwell defeated the host Lakers 72-12 with the Tigers winning every contested match by pin.

Logan Brown picked up a forfeit win at 106 pounds, but Andre Carter (113), Collin Teutsch (120), Cofy Walls (126), Riley Johnson (132), Timothy Nichols (138), Jackson Riley (144), Ethan Newsom (150), Dylan Walls (165), Colin Walls (175), Preston Rogers (215) and Cole Sherill (285) all won by pinfall.

Caldwell forfeited the 157 and 190 matches.

The Tigers also picked up a win over McCracken County 57-24.

Brown (106), Teutsch (120), Cofy Walls (126), Johnson (132), Newsom (157), Dylan Walls (165), Colin Walls (175) and Sherill (285) all won by pin.

Nichols won at 144 with a 12-8 decision.

Caldwell forfeited two matches and was pinned in two others.

Caldwell’s matmen will take part in the Coyote Classic on Saturday at West Creek High School in Clarksville.
