Cold Shooting Grounds Falcons in Loss to Clarksville Christian

A frigid start was more than the Fort Campbell Falcons could overcome in their home opener Friday night. Clarksville Christian held the Falcons scoreless in the opening quarter and then rolled on to a 40-26 win.

Fort Campbell did not make a shot inside the three-point line until the second half and was limited to just nine made field goals on the night.

Clarksville Christian bolted out to an 11-0 lead after the opening eight minutes of the game. From there, the Falcons essentially played them even, but could never grind away at the early lead.

Clarksville Christian would carry a 20-9 lead into the locker room at the break. Aidan Blaszkowski and Dason Tate combined to hit three three-point shots to account for the Falcons’ first-half points.

Fort Campbell would be trailing 31-19 as the teams headed into the final quarter. Again, the Falcons would play essentially even with Clarksville Christian in the final period, but could not make any headway into the deficit.

Aidan Blaszkowski was the only Falcon to reach double-figures with 14 points. Colby Tate would finish the night with seven points.

Clarksville Christian’s Michael Lawton led all scorers in the game with 15 points. Cyler Middleton added 14 for the victors.

Cold shooting would be the undoing of the Falcons. Fort Campbell hit on just 9 of 44 from the field in the contest.
