When the ball is not going in the basket it is difficult to pick up a win on the court. The Fort Campbell Lady Falcons frosty cold-shooting Saturday afternoon was their undoing as they dropped a 65-7 decision on the road at Fulton City.

The Lady Falcons connected on just 2-28 shots from the field for 7.1-percent on the day. They were 0 of 10 from behind the 3-point line.

Fulton City came out and decided the issue very quickly Saturday. The Lady Bulldogs limited the Lady Falcons to a single field goal as they roared out to a 25-2 lead at the end of the first quarter. Things got no better in the second quarter as the Fulton City defense held the Lady Falcons scoreless while they ran out to a 46-2 lead.

The story remained the same when the teams came out of the locker room for the second half. With a running clock in play, Fulton City held the Lady Falcons to a field goal and a single free throw as the lead grew to 58-5 going into the final eight minutes.

The Lady Bulldogs defense then held the Lady Falcons without a field goal for the second time in the game as they cruised on out to the final 58 point margin.

Hope Balzeski had four points for Fort Campbell. Marlie Fanning was the other Lady Falcon to break into the scoring column with three points.

Fulton City was paced by Mia Martin with 22 points, 16 of them coming in the opening half. Takyra Taylor also hit double figures with 13 points.

The Lady Falcons fall to 0-2 on the season and are set to return to action December 13 when they host Montgomery Central.
