Rose Smith Has 21 as Lady Lyons Win at Dawson 62-35

Rose Smith scored 21 points Friday night to help Dawn Cotham pick up her first win as Lyon County Lady Lyon head coach.

Lyon (1-2) held Dawson Springs to just one field goal in the first quarter while building a 13-2 lead, and went on to win on the Lady Panthers’ home court 62-35.

The Lady Lyons led 32-13 at halftime on the way to the 27-point victory.

Gracen Wynn had 14 points for Lyon, but was injured during the third quarter of the contest when she hit her head on the floor. Wynn was taken to the hospital, with reports indicating she had a concussion and a sore arm.

Lyon was already without Calista Collins for the Dawson Springs game.

Both Wynn and Collins are expected to miss Saturday’s game against Owensboro Apollo in the Lady Mustang Classic at Muhlenberg County. That contest is set for a noon tipoff.

Hadlie Butler added 10 points for the Lady Lyons at Dawson.

The Lady Panthers (0-2) were led by Abby Ward’s 15 points.
