When Heritage Christian announced the transition to the KHSAA, everyone knew there would be some bumps along the road. The Warriors hit one of those bumps with full force Saturday night.

Henderson County held the Warriors to less than ten points in three of four quarters as the Colonels rolled to an 85-29 win. In the first week of the KHSAA regular season, Heritage has now gone on the road to play perennial regional contenders Madisonville-North Hopkins and Henderson County.

Henderson jumped out to a 19-4 lead after the opening quarter. The Colonels then lit up the scoreboard for 36 points in the second quarter to take a 55-17 lead into the locker room.

The second half played out quickly with a running clock, as Henderson’s defense continued to limit the scoring opportunities for the Warriors.

Matt Wills led the way for HCA with 12 points. Carlos Robles added 7 for the Warriors.

Cooper Davenport topped the scoring list for Henderson County with 20 points. Gerard Thomas finished with 16 points. Damarius Dixon also reached double figures with 12.

The game was the season opener for Henderson County.
