Three Point Barrage Carries Lyons Past Bella Vista Prep

The Lyon County Lyons were impressive Saturday in their final “tuneup” ahead of next week’s 2nd Region All A Classic. Travis Perry lit the scoreboard up for 37 points as the Lyons took down Bella Vista Prep 83-71 in the McCracken County Mustang Madness.

The Lyons took control of the game with a 32 point onslaught in the third quarter, keyed by five three-pointers in the quarter, two by Perry and three by Jack Reddick. For the game, Lyon County would knock down nine shots from behind the arc.

The game was tight early, with Bella Vista holding a 17-16 lead after the opening quarter.

Lyon County gave a bit of a preview of what was to come in the third quarter with their play in the second. The Lyons put 23 points on the board as they took a 39-36 lead into the locker room at the half.

The Lyons then made their move coming out to start the second half. Travis Perry, Jackson Shoulders, and Jack Reddick combined to score 30 of the Lyons 32 points as they moved the lead out to 71-53 going into the final quarter.

The Lyons were then able to hold Bella Vista at bay for the final eight minutes and pick up the 12 point win. Lyon County would lead by as many as 22 points in the contest.

Travis Perry led the way for the Lyons with 37 points. Jackson Shoulders added 19. Brady Shoulders had 14 points, while Jack Reddick finished with 13 points, 11 of them in the third quarter, to complete the scoring for Lyon County.

Terrance Dixon Jr. was the leading scorer for Bella Vista with 16 points. Luke Kearney added 15.

The Lyons move to 7-4 with the win. They will travel to Crittenden County Tuesday evening for their opening game in the 2nd Region All A Classic.
