Crittenden County begins defense of its girls’ Second Region All A Classic basketball title Monday at University Heights Academy.
The Lady Rockets won their first region title in four years in 2021. The championship was the seventh for Crittenden County – the most of any team in the region. Webster County has won six region titles, and Lyon County and University Heights Academy have each won three.
Crittenden County (11-2) will play at UHA (3-8) Monday at 6 pm. Crittenden beat UHA 60-23 in the season opener on November 30.
The winner plays Lyon County (6-7) in the semifinals at Lyon County Thursday at 7:30.
In the upper bracket, Fort Campbell (0-6) plays at Livingston Central (2-6) in a 6 pm matchup Monday. Livingston beat the Lady Falcons 45-10 on December 14.
Caldwell County (2-9) will play at Dawson Springs (1-6) in the other upper-bracket matchup Monday at 6 pm featuring a pair of 7th District teams. The game will not count in the district standings.
The upper bracket semifinal will be Thursday at 6 pm. The region championship will be Saturday at 4 pm at Lyon County.
The region champion will play the 5th Region winner on Wednesday, January 26 at 1 pm (ET). Bethlehem (7-5) and Campbellsville (8-7) are the region’s favorites.
