A big second quarter helped Crittenden County’s girls blow open their game against Murray on Saturday in the Western Kentucky Showcase at Rocket Arena in Marion.
The Lady Rockets (11-2) led just 12-7 after one period, but used a 23-6 advantage in the second stanza to get to halftime with a commanding 35-13 margin.
From there, Crittenden breezed to a 47-27 triumph over the Lady Tigers.
Taylor Guess had 18 points for the Lady Rockets while Natalie Boone added 12.
Jade Oakley led Murray (3-8) with 13 points.
The game was one of five contests in the Western Kentucky Showcase. Seven games were originally planned, but the schedule had to be changed after this week’s wintry weather left some teams unable to attend.
