Will Sahvir Wheeler play against Tennessee? The junior point guard has missed the last two games — big wins over Georgia and Vanderbilt — with a neck injury suffered early in UK’s loss at LSU last week.

“He had a good workout at the shoot around (at Vanderbilt Tuesday),” Kentucky coach John Calipari said on his weekly radio show Wednesday night. “He worked out today on his own.

“Seems to be getting better. He has two days to practice. We will see where it goes.”

Wheeler was second in the nation in assists when he was injured. However, freshman TyTy Washington set a UK record with 17 assists against Georgia and played well again at Vanderbilt.

“It’s nice to know we can play well without him (Wheeler) but his disruptiveness on both sides of the ball is crazy,” Calipari said. “He flies it up the court and we play faster.”
