Daviess Pounces on Lady Wildcat Mistakes to Grab Win

An old problem resurfaced Saturday for the Trigg County Lady Wildcats as they fell to Daviess County 52-38 at Wildcat Gym.

Trigg County turned the ball over 20 times that led to 23 Lady Panther points. Conversely, Daviess County had six turnovers that turned into five Trigg County points.

Outside of the turnovers, it was a solid effort from Lady Wildcats who led 11-8 after one quarter. Trigg only had two field goals in the second quarter and turned the basketball over four times. Daviess County ended the first half with an 11-2 run.

Trigg County got as close as 32-30 on a Marleigh Reynolds bucket with 3:33 left, but and 8-0 Daviess County run sealed the win as the Lady Wildcats could get no closer than eight points the rest of the way.

Both teams shot 33% from the field, but Daviess County made nine more field goals and had 26 more shots.

Reynolds lead Trigg County with 15 points and nine rebounds, and Olivia Noffsinger added 13 points.

Adalyn Ayer had 19 points and 10 rebounds, and Katie Mavis added 16 points as Daviess County improved to 11-5.

Trigg County’s season record evens at 8-8, and the Lady Wildcats will host Livingston Central Monday night at six at Wildcat Gym.
