Fort Campbell Puts an End to Long Hardwood Skid

Fort Campbell put a ‘W’ in the column Saturday for the first time in six years when they held off Community Christian 33-20.

The win snapped a 113-game losing streak that spanned six seasons and five coaches. Fort Campbell’s last win prior to Saturday was on February 5, 2016, over Trigg County.

Rosella Rajj scored five points in a decisive fourth quarter that saw the Lady Falcons extend a six-point lead into a 13-point win.

Rajj finished with a game-high 16 points and 16 rebounds and got Fort Campbell off to a good start with a trio of first half 3-pointers.

Fort Campbell led 19-8 at halftime, but the Lady Warriors used a 7-2 third quarter run to get to within 21-15.

Hope Balzeski scored three points and hauled down 11 rebounds, and Kayla Prince had five points and 10 rebounds as the Lady Falcons held a 47-32 advantage on the glass.

Fort Campbell will look to win its second straight game Tuesday when they host Dawson Springs.
