Lady Warriors Working to Adapt Their Game Moving Forward

While Heritage Christian Academy played Northside Baptist as close as they have in recent years, the Lady Warriors didn’t have enough firepower in a 37-27 loss Tuesday in Mayfield.

HCA learned Tuesday they will be without leading scorer Hallie Zieg for the rest of the year with a knee injury. Zieg scored 13 points in HCA’s 43-30 loss to Northside on December 9.

Northside jumped out to a 9-1 lead early thanks to points from their press defense. Kate St. Martin buried three first half 3-pointers to keep HCA close.  However, six points would be as close as they would get in the half.

HCA found some offense inside with Tori Sutton and Bailey Craft. Sutton scored nine points and pulled down 12 rebounds. Craft added seven points and eight boards.

St. Martin led HCA with 11 points.

Heritage Christian returns to KCAA action Saturday at home against Lakeside. HCA is ranked fifth in this week’s KCAA Power Poll, while Lakeside is No. 3.
