Fort Campbell Boys Come Up Empty at St. Mary

The Fort Campbell boys’ basketball team found St. Mary inhospitable hosts on Tuesday night, with the Falcons only breaking double digits in one quarter on the way to a 60-34 defeat.

Dakevius Lewis provided most of the offense for the Falcons early on with five 1st-quarter points, but the Vikings got five each from Daniel Willett, Cade Fleming, and Luke Sims to lead 18-7.

It got worse for the Falcons in the 2nd quarter.  Fleming added eight points and Sims six to stretch the Viking advantage to 39-13 at the half.

The teams combined for only 16 points in the 3rd quarter and Fort Campbell outscored the Vikings 14-12 over the final eight minutes.

Aiden Blaszkowski scored 15 of his team-high 19 in the 2nd half for the Falcons.

Fleming finished with 17 to lead the Vikings, followed by Sims with 16, and Willett with 11.

Fort Campbell hits the road on Thursday for an 8th-District matchup with Christian County.
