Tyler Jacobs was Trigg County’s top wrestler at the Region I Meet Saturday with a fifth place finish. While Jacobs finished outside the top four that automatically qualified for the semi-state round, he is an alternate and will wrestle if one of the top four can’t go.
Jacobs won three matches on the day after entering the tournament with a record of 10-5. He was the only Trigg wrestler to reach the podium.
Andrew Hendricks and Anthony Hall each won two matches in their respective class, and Andrew Wilson and MaKenna Hendrix each won one match. Makenna will wrestle in the girls’ state tournament next week.
As a team, Trigg County finished 14th with 32 points.
