Caldwell County’s Jabrion Spikes has moved into No. 7 on the Tigers’ all-time scoring list.
The senior guard passed Eli Pepper with 35 points in Caldwell’s win over Trigg County on Monday. With another 59 points in a setback at Hopkinsville on Tuesday, Spikes is quickly closing in on Timmy Riley for No. 6.
Pepper scored 1,307 points as a Tiger from 2011-15. Spikes now has 1,370 points with one regular-season game remaining and then postseason play.
Riley was another high-scoring guard for the Tigers from 1983-86. He totaled 1,408 points, putting him 38 ahead of Spikes.
Spikes is third in the state in scoring this season at 30.6 points a game.
At No. 5 on Caldwell’s career scoring list is Carrell Boyd with 1,819 points.
The Tigers conclude the regular season on Friday when they host Crittenden County.
Caldwell will then face Hopkins County Central in the 7th District tournament next week, also in Princeton.
