Hopkinsville High School head coach Anthony Babb has been named 2nd Region Coach of the Year by the Kentucky Association of Basketball Coaches in his first year on the job with the Tigers.
The regional coaches awards were announced Friday morning by the KABC.
Babb coached the Hopkinsville Lady Tigers last season.
Under Babb this season, the Tigers have gone 19-6 and are rated second in the 2nd Region behind only Lyon County, according to the KHSAA’s RPI.
Hopkinsville enters the postseason off three straight wins, including a 69-62 decision over defending 3rd Region champion Muhlenberg County on Thursday.
Hoptown will host the 8th District tournament next week at Tiger Gym. The Tigers own the No. 1 seed.
