A slow first half was the undoing for the Fort Campbell Lady Falcons Saturday as they hit the road to take on the Fort Knox Lady Eagles. Fort Knox limited the Lady Falcons to one field goal in each of the first and second quarters as the Lady Eagles took a 42-27 win in the regular season finale.

Fort Knox took a 10-3 lead after the opening quarter. That lead would grow to 25-7 at the half.

The Lady Falcons found a bit more rhythm on the offensive end as the second half got underway. Still, Fort Knox was able to extend the lead to 38-15 at the end of the third.

The Fort Campbell defense was able to hold the Lady Eagles to just one field goal in the final quarter, but the hole was too deep as Fort Knox held on to take the 15 point win.

Marlie Fanning led the way for Fort Campbell with 12 points. Rosella Rajj contributed 8 points to the cause.

Fort Knox was paced by Zaniya Hedges, who finished the game with 15 points. Abbigail Mireles also hit double figures with 12.

With the loss, the Lady Falcons end the regular season at 1-18. They will take on Hopkinsville Monday night at 6:00 in the first semifinal of the 8th District Tournament.
