Lady Maroons Roll Into 7th District Final (w/PHOTOS)

Madisonville-North Hopkins used a 14-0 run in the first quarter to grab the upper hand and went on to rout Dawson Springs 77-32 Monday night in the semifinals of the girls’ 7th District tournament in Princeton.

The Lady Maroons advance to Thursday’s 6 p.m. championship game.

Dawson Springs (9-19) tied the game twice early at 2-2 and 4-4 before Madisonville’s big run made it an 18-4 game.

The Lady Maroons led 23-9 after one quarter and extended the margin to 43-21 at halftime.

Madisonville (23-5) reached the 35-point mercy-rule margin for a running clock midway through the third quarter.

The Lady Maroons took a 64-25 advantage to the final frame.

Emilee Hallum and Camryn LaGrange each had 20 points to lead Madisonville, with Hallum burying five first-half 3-pointers and finishing with six shots from behind the arc.

Amari Lovan added 16 for Madisonville, which won its 38th straight game against Dawson Springs.

The Lady Panthers got 12 points from Gracie Harper in the season-ending setback.
