Staying busy isn’t something that is usually an issue for Caldwell County junior Rachel McClung.
Between her involvement in sports and numerous academic endeavors, McClung’s free time is typically in short supply.
McClung is currently a member of the Lady Tiger tennis team. She also plays soccer and was a manager on the Tiger football team.
But sports is just a small portion of what keeps McClung busy.
She is also heavily involved in FFA — chapter vice-president in 2021-22 — and is not only a member of the National Honor Society, but secretary/treasurer in 2021-22.
McClung doesn’t just compete on the high school’s academic team, but is an assistant coach on the middle school academic team as well.
McClung was chosen for the 2021 Governor’s School for Entrepreneurs, a summer program where high school students in the state focus on product innovation and business model design.
McClung recently took first place in the Princeton Rotary Club ‘s annual speech contest — the second year in a row she has earned that honor.
