Fort Campbell Bats Quiet in Loss at Crittenden

Two Crittenden County pitchers combined to hold visiting Fort Campbell to a single hit on Friday, and the Rockets got four RBI from Casey Cates in an 11-1 victory over the Falcons.

Fort Campbell slips to 1-8 with a visit from Kenwood, TN coming up on Saturday.

Crittenden County wins its second straight to improve to 4-4 and has a week off before taking part in the Warren County Invitational on April 7.

The Rockets took control with four runs in the bottom of the 2nd on RBI singles by Chase Conyer, Cates, and Jeremiah Foster.

Crittenden stretched the advantage to 6-0 in the 4th on a run-scoring double for Maddox Carlson and an RBI single by Ben Evans.

After loading the bases with an error and a pair of walks, the Falcons scored their only run when Joey Stuwe drew a walk from Crittenden pitcher Case Gobin.

Cates drove in two more runs in the bottom of the 5th, followed by run-scoring singles by Logan Bailey and Carlson.  Tanner Beverly’s single to bring in Gobin ended the game.

Beverly earned the win on the mound, allowing a single hit and a walk with three strikeouts over three innings.

Ethan Egner took the loss for the Falcons, surrendering 11 runs on 16 hits with a walk and a strikeout.
