Most of the time when you see Christian County’s Karlee Crick on the softball field, her face is hidden behind a catcher’s mask. When she is off the field, hidden is not the word you would use to describe what this young lady is accomplishing in her life. It is the list of those accomplishments that brings her to be this week’s Chick-fil-A “Triple A.”

Her accomplishments on the field are noteworthy in themselves. Through eight games this season, the junior is hitting .320 with two doubles and seven RBIs, and has been a stabilizing force behind the plate for the Lady Colonels. During her sophomore season in 2021, Karlee hit .408 with three home runs and 38 RBIs.

Karlee has been a member of the Christian County High School softball team since 7th grade and experienced 4 district titles, 1 tregion title, and a trip to the state softball tournament.

While the on-field is impressive, Karlee’s off-field activities are pretty special in their own right.

She is quite a standout in the classroom. Karlee had made A’s throughout elementary, middle, and high school and was named to the All-District Academic Team in 7th, 8th, 9th, and 10th grade. She is a member of the National Honor Society.

All of this while being aggressive in the pursuit of her academic career. Karlee is an Advanced Placement and Dual Credit Scholar at Hopkinsville Community College and a student at Gateway Academy in the Health Science pathway. She also recently applied to the Governor’s Scholars program and the Commonwealth Honors Academy.

Outside of the classroom, Karlee is extensively involved in her school community. She has been selected as a tour guide for the incoming freshmen for 3 years at Christian County High School. She is also involved for the 2021-2022 school year in the Youth Leadership group. Karlee has also been a part of the Health Occupational Students of America and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, she exhibited her compassion and caring for others by being a part of the “Night to Shine” dance, which is a prom-like event for those with special needs. During the summer, she works at the YMCA in childcare and helps with camps.

Her faith is also an important part of Karlee’s off-the-field activities. She attends Concord Baptist Church, where is she is involved in the youth group and spends time helping in the church nursery. Karlee attended FUGE Christian camp with the Concord Baptist Church Youth Group and had the opportunity to be involved with refugees.

All in all, Karlee Crick is well-deserving of being recognized as another of our Chick-fil-A “Triple A” student-athletes.
