Colonels Claim Second Win at Donny Everett Classic

In what can only be described as a miserable night for baseball in Clarksville on Friday, the Christian County Colonels picked up an abbreviated 8-1 victory over Davidson Academy in the Donny Everett Classic.

The teams traded runs in the 1st inning before a seven-run 2nd put the Colonels in control.  Gage Montes’ single started a two-out rally, and Preston Phan and Josh Snorton were hit by pitches with the bases loaded to push two runs across.  Elijah Underhill came home on a passed ball, and Carter Sholar singled to score Brylle Javier.

Christian County was in business again with no outs and the bases full in the top of the 3rd, but the game was called due to poor visibility after the lights went out on a pole behind 3rd base.

Lane Gamble got the win on the mound, allowing an unearned run on a hit.  Underhill, Javier, Sholar, and Montes each had a hit, with Javier driving in two runs.

On Saturday, the Colonels will return to Clarksville to face Seymour, TN, ahead of a big 8th-District matchup with Hopkinsville next Friday.
