Colonels Take Third Place at Hoptown Classic

Christian County finished in third place Saturday at the Hopkinsville Track and Field Classic at the Stadium of Champions.

The Colonels scored 78 points as a team, just four points behind second-place University Heights Academy. Fort Campbell won with 109 points.

Jaiden Northington – 1st in the 400-meter dash (53.30); 3rd in the 200-meter dash (24.44)

Jarae Leavell – 2nd in the triple jump (36-02); 4th in the long jump (17-02.5)

Christopher McCarley – 2nd in the shot put (37-10.5); 4th in the discus throw (113-10)

TreCoreus Blanton – 2nd in the 100-meter dash (11.67); 10th in the TreCoreus Blanton (26.61)

Camden Britton – 2nd in the 800-meter run (2:10.27)

Jermaine Dove – 3rd in the 400-meter dash (57.43)

Michael Webb – 3rd in the 3200-meter run (11:34.93)

Demetrius Holloway – 3rd in the 300-meter hurdles (46.36); 4th in the 110-meter hurdles (19.99)

Zamien Matlock – 4th in the 100-meter dash (12.01)

Wyatt Fleming – 6th in the 800-meter run (2:22.08)

Alex Hale – 9th in the 800-meter run (2:27.58)

The 3200-meter relay team of Wyatt Fleming, J.T. Miles, Alex Hale, and Joseph Parker finished second in a time of 9:47.33.

The 800-meter relay team also finished in second place with a time of 1:37.64.

The 400-meter relay team of Dahzmeon Brown, Jaiden Northington, TreCoreus Blanton, and Zamien Matlock came in second place in a time of 47.96 seconds.

The 1600-meter relay team of Dahzmeon Brown, Jarae Leavell, Jermaine Dove, and Jaiden Northington finished in third place in 3:57.29.
