Playing for the first time since returning from a 2-4 stretch over spring break in Florida, the Todd County Central softball team only needed four innings to dispatch visiting Hopkinsville 15-0 on Thursday.

The Lady Rebels improve to 10-6 with a trip to Butler County coming up on Friday.  Hopkinsville drops its fourth straight to slip to 2-6 overall.

Todd Central pushed five runs across in the bottom of the 1st, highlighted by RBI singles from Abby Williams and Naomi Welborn.

The Lady Rebels added four more in the 2nd on run-scoring singles by Jocelyn Mock and Abigail McPherson.  McPherson was dominant in the circle as well, allowing two hits with five strikeouts over three frames to earn the win.

Karli Herrera doubled to bring in a run, Williams followed with an RBI triple, and Sam Case singled to score another.  McPherson capped a four-RBI night with a run-scoring single for a 13-0 score after three.

After two walks and a hit by pitch loaded the bases in the 4th, the Lady Rebels plated a run on a wild pitch, and Case’s single drove in the 15th run to end the game.

Herrera, Williams, Mock, and McPherson each had two hits, and Williams drove in a pair of runs.

Shaniya Straight took the loss in the circle for Hoptown, yielding 13 runs, eight earned, on ten hits with five walks.
