Not having any games for two weeks may have led to a slow start for Caldwell County in Friday’s All A Classic contest against Heritage Christian Academy.
The Tigers trailed 2-0 and were held hitless through four innings before exploding for eight runs in the fifth inning.
Caldwell beat HCA 10-2 to advance to the All A regional semifinals.
Hunter Newsom was 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI in the victory. He also twice came out from behind home plate to field bunts and throw out runners at first.
