A long bus ride and a slow start for the Trigg County Wildcats were a tough combination Tuesday evening. Union County scored early and often, in fact in every inning, as they routed the Trigg County Wildcats 14-4.

Union County was leading 1-0 heading into the bottom of the second inning and then hung a six-spot on the scoreboard. The Braves kept rolling from there, scoring two more runs in the third, two in the fourth, and three in the fifth to secure the win.

The Trigg County defense was a bit too cooperative, being charged with three errors in the game. Union County would score the 14 runs on just eight hits over the five innings of play. Three Trigg County pitchers would combine to hit nine batters and give up five walks.

The Wildcats did manage to put up four runs of their own in the top of the fifth, but the deficit was a bit too much for Trigg to overcome with a late-game rally.

Hunter Reynolds finished 2-2 for Trigg County. Matthew Leeper, Trevor Terrell, Isaac Peca, and Aaron Despain had one hit each. Terrell, Peca, and Tyler Ahart, each had one RBI for the Wildcats.

The loss drops Trigg County to 4-11 on the year.
