Colonels Make It 9 Straight With Win at Muhlenberg

The Christian County Colonels scored in the fifth inning to break a 2-2 tie and then added a pair of runs in the top of the seventh as the Colonels picked up their 23rd win of the season on the road at Muhlenberg County Monday evening. The win was the 9th in a row for the Colonels, who opened the season with a 12-game winning streak.

Elijah Underhill hit his 7th home run of the season in the top of the fifth inning, breaking the 2-2 tie and giving the Colonels the lead for good.

Josh Snorton would add a couple of insurance runs in the top of the seventh when he hit a triple to score Elijah Underhill and Preston Phan.

Christian County had taken a 2-0 lead in the contest back in the top of the third when Gage Montes sacrificed to score Hayden Hunt and Preston Phan walked with the bases loaded.

The Mustangs scored a pair of runs in the bottom of the fourth inning to even things up at 2-2.

Elijah Underhill hit the cover off the ball, going 2-3 with a home run, a triple, an RBI, and three runs scored. Preston Phan was 2-3 with a run scored. Josh Snorton was 1-3 with a triple and two RBIs.

On the mound, Aiden Lewis pitched six innings, giving up two runs, only one of them earned, on four hits, striking out three while walking five.

The Colonels are slated to be back in action on the road Friday night at Henderson County.
