The Hopkinsville Lady Tigers game a strong performance over the weekend at the 2022 Girls Section 1 Sectional Tennis Tournament at Greenwood High School. The Lady Tigers advanced all the way to the championship match, where they were upended by Greenwood.
The team matches consisted of three singles matches and two doubles matches.
The Lady Tigers began their weekend against the Bowling Green Lady Purples. Hoptown would advance with a 3-2 win.
In the semifinals of the championship bracket, the Lady Tigers would be matched up against Logan County. Hoptown came away with a 4-1 win over the Lady Cougars to advance to the final of the sectional.
The Lady Gators had a bit too much firepower for the Lady Tiger in the title match. Greenwood came away with a 5-0 win to claim the sectional team title.
Schools playing in the sectional were Hopkinsville, Bowling Green, Logan County, Greenwood, South Warren, Glasgow, Madisonville-North Hopkins, and Barren County.
