UHA’s Pollard Pitches One-Hitter in Win Over Lady Warriors (w/PHOTOS)

Regan Pollard threw a one-hit shutout as the University Heights Academy Lady Blazers picked up a big home-field win over Heritage Christian Academy Tuesday night. The Lady Blazers connected for 13 hits of their own as they rolled to the 10-0 victory over the Lady Warriors.

UHA effectively decided the game in the bottom of the first inning when the Lady Blazers hung seven runs on the scoreboard. Regan Pollard, Lillian Bruce, and Mallory Ladd all drove in runs with base hits during the big innings.

Outside of the first inning, the Lady Warriors hung tough with the Lady Blazers. After the first inning, UHA scored just three more runs on seven hits.

UHA would add two runs in the bottom of the second when Lillian Bruce scorched a double down the first-base line to score Regan Pollard and Breanna Daniel.

HCA missed a great chance to get back in the game in the top of the fifth. A walk, a single, and a hit batter loaded the bases for the Lady Warriors with no outs. However, Regan Pollard buckled down and got out of the jam by striking out the next three batters.

The Lady Blazers would then end the game in the bottom of the inning when Mallory Ladd drilled an RBI double to right field to get to the ten-run rule.

Ladd finished 2-4 with three RBIs. Lillian Bruce finished 2-3 with 3 RBIs. Regan Pollard went 2-2 with an RBI and two runs scored.

Kailyn Stanley had the only hit of the game for the Lady Warriors.

Regan Pollard controlled the game in the circle. Pollard pitched five innings, giving up no runs on one hit, striking out 12 while walking three.
