Donnisha Flowers feels like her best basketball is still ahead of her. The Hopkinsville High School senior transformed her game and herself into a two-time All-region performer.

On Thursday, Flowers signed to continue her basketball and academic career at Shawnee College in Ullin, Illinois.

Flowers finished her Hopkinsville career with 1,102 points and 896 rebounds. She led the Lady Tigers in rebounding as a freshman at 8.8 per game.

As a sophomore, Flowers established herself as one of the region’s top inside players, averaging 13.9 points and 10.2 rebounds a game.

During her junior season that saw the team only play 13 games due to COVID-19 quarantines and shutdowns, she still averaged 12.4 points and 7.8 rebounds and was named an All-Region player for the first time.

In helping lead Hopkinsville to the district title in 2021-22, Flowers earned her second All-Region nod after scoring 12.8 points and 7.2 rebounds.

Flowers played further from the basket last year in anticipation of her move to the college level but was still third on the team in rebounding.

Shawnee College competes in the National Junior College Athletic Association in the Great Rivers Athletic Conference. The Saints were 14-14 overall and 7-7 in conference play last year.
