One Night to Determine 5th District Softball Seeding

5-10-rich

After 10 district games played between four schools, two games Wednesday night will determine the seeding for next week’s 5th District Softball Tournament at Trigg County.

Both Lyon County and Livingston Central are 4-1 in district play. Crittenden County and Trigg County are both 1-4.

Lyon County travels to Trigg County Wednesday, while Crittenden County hosts Livingston Central. Lyon County beat Trigg County 12-9 on April 26. Livingston beat Crittenden County 9-1 on April 19.

If Lyon and Crittenden both win and finish at 5-1, a coin flip will determine the top seed and the No. 2 seed. If one wins and the other loses, the winner will be the No. 1 seed.

It’s the same formula for Trigg and Crittenden.  If they finish with the same record, a coin toss will determine the No. 3 and No. 4 seed.

While the details haven’t been finalized, past tradition has the No. 1 and No. 4 seed playing Monday at 5:30 and the No. 2 and No. 3 seeds playing at 7:30 with a Tuesday championship game.

Tournament details are expected to be announced following Wednesday’s games.
