The Todd County Central baseball team reached the 20-win mark for the second consecutive season with a pair of lopsided victories over visiting Fort Campbell on Wednesday.

The Rebels took the opener 13-2 and followed up with a 17-1 result in the second to improve to 20-10.  They can equal 2021’s win total if they take care of Dawson Springs on Friday and Caverna on Saturday.

Angel Garcia’s RBI double in the top of the 1st gave the Falcons an early lead in the opener, but it was all Rebels the rest of the way.  Four runs came in on Falcon errors in the bottom of the inning, and Devin Schutt added an RBI single for a 5-1 Rebel advantage.

Jacob Brandon led off the 2nd with a triple and came home on Schutt’s single to kickstart a six-run inning.  The Rebels added two more runs in the 4th, including an RBI single by Grady Reding, to round out the scoring.

Tanner Farmer earned the win on the mound, surrendering a pair of earned runs on four hits with three walks and 12 strikeouts.  Brandon was 3/3 at the plate, and Schutt hit safely twice.

Ethan Egner took the loss for the Falcons, giving up six runs, two earned, on two hits with a pair of walks.  Garcia finished with two hits.

Just as in the first game, Fort Campbell took the lead with a run in the top of the 1st in the nightcap, but once again the Rebels took over from there.  Schutt’s inside-the-park, three-run home run highlighted a five-run 1st, and Farmer’s RBI single accounted for one of two more runs in the 2nd.

Farmer doubled to bring in the first of nine runs in the 4th.  Schutt added a two-run double, and Farmer’s bases-loaded triple ended the game and capped a five-RBI performance.

Zack Robinson worked all four frames to get the win on the mound.  He allowed a single run with a walk and seven strikeouts.

Schutt matched Farmer with five RBI, and Nate Reding had a hit, an RBI, and stole three bases.

Fort Campbell slips to 4-25 with a trip to Caldwell County scheduled for Thursday and a visit from Webster County on Friday to close out the regular season.
