The Trigg County Wildcats will head into the postseason coming off their biggest offensive output of the season. The Wildcats traveled to Dixon Friday night and came away with a 20-5 5-inning win over the Trojans.
Trigg combined 13 hits and 11 Webster County walks to end up scoring in each of their five at-bats. The Wildcats scored two in the first, two more in the second, five in the third, seven in the fourth, and four in the fifth.
Webster County was also charitable in the field as the Trojans were charged with three errors over the five innings of the game. ‘
Tyler Ahart led the Trigg attack at the plate. Ahart finished 1-4 at the plate with a grand slam, five RBIs, and two runs scored. Trevor Terrell ended up 2-2 with 4 RBIs and two runs scored. Aaron Despain and Matthew Leeper added three RBIs each for the Wildcats.
On the mound, Isaac Peca got the start, going two innings, giving up one run on three hits, striking out three while walking none.
With the win, the Wildcats finish the regular season at 12-17. The open 5th District play Monday night when they take on Crittenden County at the Trigg County recreation complex.
