The Fort Campbell Falcons will head into district tournament play Monday on a late-season four-game losing skid. The Falcons wrapped up the regular season Saturday falling to Webster County 13-3 at home on post.
Three Webster County pitchers combined to pitch a six-inning no-hitter against the Falcons.
The game was tied 3-3 going into the fourth inning. The Trojans then scored ten unanswered runs to close out the contest in six innings. Webster County scored four in the fourth, five in the fifth, and one more in the sixth to pick up the win.
The Falcons had their struggles in the field committing five errors in the game. Fort Campbell pitchers also gave up nine walks and two hit batters.
Even with the no-hitter, the Trojan pitching staff had issues of its own, giving up nine walks and two hit batters. Still, Webster was able to limit the damage to just a run in the first, a run in the second, and a run in the third.
Fort Campbell, with a record of 4-27, will now head into district tournament action Monday when they take on Christian County, Monday evening at 5:30 at Hopkinsville High School.
