Hoptown Pairs to Face Webster and Henderson Duos in Girls’ Doubles Regional Semis

The Girls’ Doubles semifinals in the 2022 2nd Region tennis tournament will feature a pair of Hopkinsville entries as well as entried from Webster County and Henderson County. The four pairs advanced during play Monday on the courts at Ruff Park in Hopkinsville.

Allie Fort and Ella Lester advanced with wins over Kate Bennett and Hannah Jane Holland, from UHA, and Zoe Board and Caroline Cook, of Lyon County.

Ella Brown and Grasen Givens had to fight through their Round of 16 match against the Union County duo of Nevaeh Driesbach and Jariah McDaniels. The Hoptown duo then got rolling and cruised to a win over Allie Newman and Maggie White, of Webster County.

Fort and Lester will now face Allie Meisel and Maggie Jones from Webster County in one semifinal Wednesday evening.

Brown and Givens will be matched up against Cameron Chander and Merrick Conkright, of Henderson County, in the other semifinal.

All four semifinal pairs have qualified for the state tennis tournament.
