The Christian County baseball team will get a chance to avenge a loss to Hopkinsville in last season’s 8th-District title game after dispatching Fort Campbell 15-0 in Monday’s semifinal matchup.

The Colonels claimed their third win over the Falcons by a combined score of 43-3 to improve to 25-7 overall.

Christian County wasted no time jumping on Fort Campbell starter Aiden Blaszkowski with six 1st-inning runs.  Josh Snorton singled in the first and Carter Sholar drove in two runs with a double to give the Colonels an early advantage.

Jacob Jenkins’ two-run double highlighted a three-run 2nd to stretch the Colonels’ lead to 9-0.  Preston Phan and Carter Sholar singled in runs in the 3rd ahead of Hayden Hunt’s RBI double.  Hunt drove in two on a shot to center-field, with another run crossing the plate and Hunt coming around to score on a pair of Falcon errors.

Lane Gamble surrendered only two hits with a walk and three strikeouts over three frames to earn the win on the mound.  In Tuesday’s title-game meeting with Hopkinsville, the Colonels will likely turn to Elijah Underhill.  Underhill struck out 18 Tigers in a 4-3 Christian County win in mid-April.

Phan, Snorton, and Sholar finished with two hits for the Colonels, and Sholar led the way with four RBI.  Hunt and Jenkins drove in two runs each.

Blaszkowski took the loss for Fort Campbell, giving up nine earned runs on nine hits with four walks.
