Caldwell County’s Adley Lewis got a rare sacrifice fly on a pop-up to the catcher on Monday.
Hopkins Central’s Brinkley Armstrong made the catch in foul territory up the first-base line, but Harper Holeman tagged up at third and came in to score when no one covered home plate.
The run gave Caldwell a 3-2 lead in the first inning, and the Lady Tigers went on to post a 17-2 victory in the semifinals of the 7th District softball tournament.
