Fort Campbell senior Patrick Hayes has only been pole vaulting for one season, but after steady improvement throughout the year, he took home 3rd-place at the 1A Region 1 track and field meet on Saturday.
After posting a personal-best mark of 11-00, Hayes talked about he got started with the sport and his goal if he qualifies for the state meet.
