UHA Places a Strong Third at Region Track

University Heights Academy took first place in five events and automatically qualified for the state meet in seven after a third-place finish Saturday at the Class 1A Region 1 Track and Field Championships at Murray High.

Cole Glover and Connor Dill excelled in their specialties and Sam Cotthoff broke his own school record in the shot put.

Glover won region titles in the 1600 and 3200-meter runs and Dill swept the hurdle events.

UHA also had three relay teams finish third, and they must wait and see if they will advance to state based on time.

The Blazers totaled 99 points to finish behind region champion Fort Campbell (159.5) and second-place Murray (123.5).

BLAZER RESULTS

Cole Glover – 1st in the 1600-meter run (4:49.85); 1st in the 3200-meter run (10:54.22)

Connor Dill – 1st in the 110-meter hurdles (16.23); 1st in the 300-meter hurdles (41.09)

Sam Cotthoff – 1st in the shot put (45-07.75 – school record); 5th in the discus throw (112-07)

Mason Price – 2nd in the 400-meter run (54.59); 4th in the 200-meter dash (24.15)

Griffin McCoy – 4th in the triple jump (39-05); 10th in the 100-meter dash (12.51)

Ray Farmer – 5th in the 3200-meter run (11:52.43)

Chase Hendricks – 6th in the 800-meter run (2:17.52)

Logan Miller – 7th in the 110-meter hurdles (21.08); 9th in the 300-meter hurdles (55.84)

Ethan Hale – 8th in the 100-meter dash (12.36)

Trey Wyatt – 10th in the 200-meter dash (25.71)

 

The 1600-meter relay team of Connor Dill, Luke Shouse, Amari Waddy, and Mason Prince finished in second place in 3:42.35.

The 3200-meter relay team of Cole Glover, Ray Farmer, Chase Hendricks, and Luke Shouse finished in third place in 9:12.10.

The 800-meter relay team of Connor Dill, Luke Shouse, Trey Wyatt, and Mason Price finished in third place in 1:38.36.

The 400-meter relay team of Trey Wyatt, Luke Shouse, Griffin McCoy, and Ethan Hale finished third in 47.21 seconds.
